How many guests can Horizon House accommodate?
Horizon House accommodates up to eight registered guests.
How many bedrooms are there?
The house has four sleeping spaces: a master suite, a queen bedroom with balcony, a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a downstairs study with a queen Murphy bed.
How many bathrooms are there?
There are 2.5 bathrooms, including a master ensuite, a family bathroom with a deep bathtub, and a downstairs powder room.
What are the check-in and checkout times?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm and checkout is by 10:00 am. Early check-in or late checkout may occasionally be available by prior arrangement.
Is parking available?
Yes. Horizon House offers two secure off-street car spaces: one garage space and one covered carport space. The garage entrance is on Bluff Road.
How close is the house to the beach?
Elwood Beach and Point Ormond are within easy walking distance, along with Elwood Village, cafés, restaurants and wine bars.
Is Horizon House suitable for families?
Yes. The generous layout works beautifully for families, and a cot, high chair and safety gate are available on request.
Where can the cot be placed?
The cot fits comfortably in either the master suite or the upstairs queen bedroom. Please let us know your preferred room at least 24 hours before arrival.
Is there a dedicated workspace?
Yes. The downstairs study provides a comfortable workspace. It also contains a queen Murphy bed.
Does the house have Wi-Fi?
Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
Yes. The kitchen features premium Bosch appliances, an induction cooktop, integrated dishwasher, Nespresso Vertuo machine, rice cooker, essential cookware and tableware, and basic pantry amenities.
Does the house have heating and cooling?
Yes. Horizon House has central ducted heating and cooling, a gas fireplace and heated bathroom floors for year-round comfort.
Are linens and towels supplied?
Yes. Quality bed linen and towels are provided, together with premium shampoo, conditioner and hand wash.
Are laundry facilities available?
Yes. Guests have access to a European laundry with a washing machine and dryer.
Can I request extra cleaning during my stay?
Yes. Additional cleaning can be arranged for an extra fee, provided it is requested in advance.
What does the cleaning fee cover?
The cleaning fee covers a normal departure clean. Guests are expected to leave the house in a reasonably tidy condition adhering to the pre-departure checklist provided. If the house requires additional cleaning because it has not been left tidy, an extra cleaning fee will be charged.
Does Horizon House have outdoor areas?
Yes. The house includes a main outdoor dining and entertaining courtyard, an additional deck courtyard and two upstairs balconies.
Are there security cameras?
Yes. Security cameras monitor only the outdoor entry points. There are no cameras inside the house.
Are pets permitted?
No. Horizon House has a strict no-pets policy. Pets, assistance animals and other animals are not permitted anywhere on the property unless expressly approved in writing before booking. Guests must not bring, visit with or arrange for any animal to stay at the property without prior written approval.
Any unauthorised animal will be treated as a serious breach of the booking terms. The booking may be cancelled immediately, and all booking fees, accommodation charges and other amounts paid may be forfeited. Guests may also be charged for all additional cleaning, deodorising, pest treatment, damage, repairs and other costs arising from the presence of an unauthorised animal. These charges may be deducted from the security deposit or otherwise recovered from the guest.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside or outside the house.
Are parties or events permitted?
No. Parties, events, schoolies gatherings, hens’ celebrations and bucks’ celebrations are not permitted. Quiet hours apply from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.
Can Horizon House be booked for photography or filming?
Commercial photography, filming and content production may be considered with prior approval. Please contact us with details of your proposed project before booking.
How can I check availability or make a booking?

Yes. Horizon House is conveniently located near a local bus route, making it easy to explore Elwood, St Kilda, Brighton and Melbourne’s city centre without a car.

Yes. Local supermarkets, grocery stores, bakeries and specialty food shops are available within a short drive or walk of the house.
